Summary of Transaction

The document is badly damaged and difficult to read. From what is able to be gathered, the document is a bill of sale for an enslaved woman named Marthe (age 22). She is being sold from a man possibly by the name of Eugene Lassance to Jacques Etienne Roman and Jean Souli√©. Marthe is said to have been born in what appears to be the village of L’Anse √† Veau on the island of Saint-Domingo. She was brought to America by the vendor. The sale is made for 650 piasters.
