Meet the Director
Hillary Loeber joined Oak Alley on July 16, 2001, as Sales and Event Manager, overseeing sales initiatives and visitor experiences for the property. Working alongside the administrative, research, and interpretation teams, she quickly established herself as a collaborative leader with a strategic vision for advancing Oak Alley’s mission. Over the past twenty-five years, she has assumed progressively greater responsibilities, playing an instrumental role in the Foundation’s growth, operations, and long-term success.
In addition to serving as Executive Director, Hillary continues in her roles as Director of Marketing and Director of Programming. Her expertise spans destination marketing, strategic planning, tourism development, public relations, and educational programming. She represents Oak Alley at major national and international travel industry events, including IPW and Travel South International, while working closely with Louisiana’s tourism partners to position Oak Alley among the state’s premier historic destinations. Through innovative marketing initiatives, media partnerships, film collaborations, and regional tourism efforts, she has expanded Oak Alley’s reach to audiences around the world.
Equally important to her leadership is a steadfast commitment to Oak Alley’s mission of preservation, research, and education. Hillary works closely with the Foundation’s research and interpretation team to ensure the site’s history is presented with accuracy, integrity, and respect. She is dedicated to preserving Oak Alley not only as an architectural and cultural landmark, but also as a place that acknowledges its history as a site of enslavement while fostering reflection, understanding, and meaningful dialogue for future generations.
Hillary’s leadership reflects a thoughtful balance between preserving Oak Alley’s historic resources and ensuring the Foundation remains a vibrant, sustainable institution. Her broad institutional knowledge, collaborative approach, and decades of experience uniquely position her to guide Oak Alley into its next chapter while honoring the vision and legacy that have shaped the organization for generations.
As Executive Director, Hillary is committed to building upon that legacy while advancing the Foundation’s mission to preserve, interpret, and share Oak Alley’s rich and complex history. Together with the dedicated staff, Board of Trustees, and community partners, she looks forward to leading Oak Alley with integrity, innovation, and a continued commitment to excellence for generations to come.
