Louise Patin Succession (R5.194)

Transaction Date:
10/12/1836
Summary of transaction:
A mortgage was taken out by the heirs of Louise Patin with the Citizen's Bank of Louisiana. Due to a change in the bank's amendments, there was a reduction in the shares originally mortgaged. Thus, the bank's president, Edmund Forstall, approved a partial release. Fifty enslaved people were included as part of the property that was released with this act.
