We are very excited to share that after 6 years of extensive research, Oak Alley’s Department of Research & Interpretation has provided new information that has afforded us the opportunity to create a new mansion experience as well as new exhibits on the historic grounds. This new “Big House” experience will include a new narrative as well as minor changes to the interior of the house. A new exhibit to the grounds, The People of Oak Alley, highlights events in Oak Alley's history between the Roman and Stewart eras.
A temporary close of the mansion in January provided time needed to train our historical interpreters on the new mansion experience as well as make the necessary changes to the interior.
Here's a sneak peak at what to expect, whether it be your first or a return visit to Oak Alley.
We are looking forward to sharing with you, the new Oak Alley experience.
Thank you for your support of this National Historic Landmark.
